Terms of use.
These are the terms that apply when you use the Highwood marketing site at highwoodwhisky.com. They are written in plain English and governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Our separate Shopify storefront has its own terms; they are not these.
Acceptance
By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not, please leave the site.
Legal drinking age
This site is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their province, territory, or country of residence. By using the site you confirm you meet that requirement. We use an age‑confirmation gate before showing marketing content; please don’t try to circumvent it.
Permitted use
You may read this site, share links to it, and quote short passages with attribution in editorial coverage. You may not:
- copy or republish the content wholesale,
- reproduce our label artwork, bottle photography, or distillery photography in commercial work without written permission,
- scrape the site with automated tools that ignore
robots.txt, or - use the brand marks (Highwood, the wordmark, the Canada stamp) as your own.
Intellectual property
All content on this site, text, photography, illustration, brand marks, and the underlying design, is owned by Highwood Distillers Ltd. or its licensors. Highwood, Highwood Distillers, and Centennial are trademarks of Highwood Distillers Ltd.
The shop is separate
All shop transactions are handled by our separate Shopify storefront at shop.highwoodwhisky.com (currently served from the underlying Shopify domain during transition). The storefront has its own terms, its own privacy policy, and its own shipping and refund policy. The terms on this page govern the marketing site only.
Product availability
Product descriptions on this site reflect the spirit at the time of writing. Actual availability is set by provincial and territorial liquor boards (in Alberta, the AGLC) and by what is in cask at the distillery; we don’t guarantee that any particular age or release is in stock at any particular retailer at any particular time.
Links to other sites
This site links to partners, our Shopify storefront, retailers, our parent Caldera Inc., the NHL Calgary Flames, and third‑party services like Carto for the map. Those sites have their own terms and their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or their data practices.
No warranties
This site is provided as‑is. We do not warrant that the site will always be available, that it will be free of bugs, or that the information on it will be complete or current. We try to keep it accurate; we cannot promise that it always will be.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Alberta law, Highwood Distillers Ltd. and Caldera Inc. are not liable for damages arising out of your use of this site, including indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited as a matter of law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta. Any dispute is to be resolved in the courts of Alberta.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms when the site changes or when the underlying law changes. The effective date at the top of the page reflects the current revision. Continued use of the site after a revision is publicly posted is acceptance of the revised terms.
